Installation & Commission
A soil condition evaluation is carried out by a qualified engineer who determines the required ground-works necessary to suit the terrain. A concrete foundation (approved by C&F Green Energy) is then laid in place to secure the foundation can. Once the required concrete cube tests have been completed, the turbine is ready for installation.
The lower mast section is bolted onto the foundation can and other mast sections are then bolted into place.
From a raised platform, the blades are attached to the rotor of the nacelle. When all three blades have been attached, the nacelle is placed in position at the top of the mast, where all electronics are then connected.
Once certification and grid connection has been secured, the turbine is then commissioned and is ready to generate electricity and extra income!
